“It was late that night when Holmes returned from his solitary excursion. We slept in a double-bedded room, which was the best that the little country inn could do for us. I was already asleep when I was partly awakened by his entrance.
“Well Holmes,” I murmured, “Have you found anything out?”
He stood beside me in silence, his candle in his hand. Then the tall, lean figure inclined towards me. “I say, Watson,” He whispered, “Would you be afraid to sleep in the same room with a lunatic, a man with softening of the brain, an idiot whose mind has lost its grip?”
“Not in the least,” I answered in astonishment.
“Ah, that’s lucky,” he said, and not another word would be utter that night.” ~Sir A C Doyle

-I found that part just adorible the idea of Holmes sulking about to Watson in bed~
If you notice i drew Holmes and Watson in a different style. I wanted this whole pic to look a little more like the classic Sherlock Illustrations. So it's my take on Book Holmes and Watson.

i thought it was sooo cute too! i read baskerville hound and valley of fear first because it was lying around at home and had never read holmes before - completely and utterly addicted now!!

anywyas, at that scene my mouth dropped and i screamed "HOLMES AND WATSON!!" to which the rest of the train responded with looks of fear and annoyance. safe to say im such a loser and everyone enjoys watching me on the train when im doing something, like reading a book, playing ds, talking on the phone >.<

AND, do you know, old chap, I've been reading an article about the SLASHY SUBTEXT of Shirley Holmes, and 'insanity' or, in this case, a lunatic, was slang for gay? Bloody interesting I thought!
I like Holmes' candle here, by the way.

Anyways, It always has amazed me to see all the different ways you could draw just one character. All the styles and what not. You'll have to show me your secret when you're ready to pass down the Legendairy Pre-An Scroll xD.
